Lower Trajectory Shots
Shifting your ball position back in your stance is an effective way to hit lower trajectory shots when chipping and pitching.
Normally you start with the ball in the center of your stance to get that mid-flight shot that lands and gently rolls out to the finishing point. When we move the ball back in our stance, the ball will come out lower and probably a bit shorter. However, it’s going to release out to that finishing point you want. This is a really good shot when the pin is toward the back of the green and also a really good shot into the wind.
Start with the ball positioned at the center of your stance. Then shift it back. The effective loft is going to be less than where it starts at setup on a normal shot.
