My Favorite Drill for Putting Inside of 10 Feet

This is one of my favorite putting drills. It’s so important to hone this skill because your game inside of 10 feet is what really separates the pros from the amateurs. Statistically, it makes all the difference in your game. The muscle memory you can gain from practicing with drills like this is invaluable.

What’s great about this exercise is that you don’t need a bunch of fancy equipment to train like a pro. All you will need are three golf balls and three tees.

Rotating between left to right, right to left, uphill and downhill putts, take three tees and set them at 3, 6, and 9 feet from the hole. Using three golf balls, make three putts in a row from 3 feet and progress to 6 feet. Repeat the process out to 9 feet and then back in without missing. If you miss from any location, move back to the prior tee to continue the drill. Give yourself a set number of attempts to complete the drill and make a note of your progress.

This drill for putting inside of 10 feet will be what separates you from your playing partners. Practice this and I bet you’ll be beating them more often than not.
